Making innovation happen starts with a great team… Business owner
At Livewire, the people we work with are as important as the projects we deliver. Livewire is a privately owned agency and is led by Karen Palmer, who has worked in medical communications for over 25 years.
Karen asked a client to give an overview of her and Livewire – and this is the response…
“Karen brings a depth and breadth of expertise, experience, creativity and rigour that is so valuable and becoming ever rarer in the world of medical communications.
She is highly skilled at developing partnerships and collaborations with clients, ranging from graduate placement students through to senior global directors and VPs across a variety of companies and therapy areas. She ensures a thorough understanding of the brief, therapy area, market, and competitor activity, and is hands-on with every single project to deliver unique, bespoke, high quality, and strategically aligned solutions, projects and programmes. In my experience, she would rather poke her own eye out with a sharp stick than be accused of delivering an average output, or providing anything less than excellence and value for money. She leads a very committed team at Livewire, leveraging the best people and strengths for the specific job at hand, working as autonomously as needed, reducing client workload/hassle wherever possible, and always making the client look good in the process! All of this has earned her the reputation of a pluri-potent medical communications professional, a valued collaboration partner, and someone who is a straight talker, kind, and fun to work with.”
Karen is based in the UK and enjoys travelling, trying new restaurants, shopping for shoes & handbags, making her friends laugh, and taking her gorgeous dog Nova for long walks in the countryside, regardless of the weather. She is also much admired by friends, family and colleagues for her culinary skills and delicious cuisine.
MAKING INNOVATION HAPPEN STARTS WITH A GREAT TEAM… STRATEGIC BUSINESS LEAD – ANDY ASARO
Andy has a background in pharmacy and over 20 years’ experience in pharmaceutical medical affairs and medical project management at UK, regional and global levels across a broad range of therapeutic areas. She has been contracting and consulting independently since 2015 with clients including large blue-chip pharmaceutical companies as well as small and start-up biotechs, alliances, an OTC company and even a complex generics company across two merger/takeover situations. She joins us most recently from interim leadership roles in EMEA in rare disease, and global medical affairs in chronic hepatitis B.
Some of her key strengths are her ability to engage and connect meaningfully with people both internally and externally, to design and deliver complex projects from concept to completion and to take a holistic approach to drive continuous improvement and best practice, effortlessly flexing from defining strategic vision to operational execution. She is known for doing ordinary things in an extraordinary way and is someone who people love to work with.
Andy is based in the UK and in her spare time, she is mostly occupied with her parrots Rio, Milo and Blu, watching rugby and F1, being out in nature (when it’s not raining!), and studying towards an MSc in Global Health.
