In line with Livewire’s business practice, our community involvement must be practical and collaborative. Lucille visited Kenya in September 2009 (part of an Extraordinary Leadership performance coaching programme) which sparked ongoing initiatives linking Livewire with the small, privately run, Summit School in Maragua. |
| Livewire and the Extraordinary Leadership coaches have jointly established the XLL Educational Trust, an ethical conduit administering funding for orphan student sponsorships, bursaries, and improved water supplies at the Summit Schools. Livewire is particularly involved with orphan student sponsorships. Funds covering the student’s education are deposited initially and the interest accrued provides a lump sum for the student at the end of their educational life. |
The head teachers of both schools have visited each other and spent time in the classrooms and observing/taking part in activities. In addition, two teachers from the Gloucestershire school visited Summit for two weeks in April 2011. |
