Achieving Excellence
continued…
PLEASE, IF
YOU THINK
SOMETHING ISN’T RIGHT,
SPEAK UP
At the basic level, all of us sometimes
make mistakes and by pulling together
as a team and quality cross-checking
each others’ work we can minimise
our error level. Similarly, if a client
is asking for the impossible, it’s
much better to mention your doubts
in the first place and suggest alternative
strategies, rather than let a project
progress without much hope of a successful
outcome (for example, if the data
available for a manuscript simply
aren’t sufficiently robust for
publication in a top ranking journal).

On the other hand, we can’t
always see the whole picture and there
may be valid reasons for progressing
in a particular direction that we
are unaware of; either way, we need
to ask the question. |
